Priyangshi Roy, a 13-year-old who embarked on her storytelling journey and reached a milestone in 2025, presents an awesome, thrilling and a delightfully corny tale about a funny but very intelligent and successful squirrel who loves to sleep in his leisure time mostly!
She reveals that Squirt, the protagonist, is inspired by her own personality creative, sleepy, and always fun. Priyangshi’s debut book, [this one], is the product of her vivid imagination. Reflecting on her journey, she shares, “I
started writing this book at the age of 9. Back then, I used to write short stories on my mom’s old work desktop whenever I got bored. Eventually, the idea of writing a full-fledged book took shape, thanks to the constant encouragement I received from my family.” A true artist at heart, Priyangshi indulges in a variety of creative pursuits beyond writing. She has a wonderful singing voice, enjoys painting, plays the ukulele, and has recently started learning the guitar.
Speaking about her family’s role in her success, she says, “My dad played a huge part in helping me get this book published; he did so much to make this dream a reality. My mom always kept me focused, encouraging me to do my best whenever I felt the story was getting too long. My brother even contributed by naming some of the characters. For
instance, he came up with the name ‘Hamilton’ and named Mr. Squirt after the famous F1 racer. I’m incredibly grateful to my family—I couldn’t have done this without them.”
